Muldersdrift CPF is the best in Gauteng

MULDERSDRIFT – The best CPF in Gauteng Province is Muldersdrift.

Muldersdrift Community Policing Forum (CPF) chairperson Johan Nell commended the previous CPF chairperson Jorncy Page and the Muldersdrift Police station commandeer for the outstanding accolades.

The CPF recently won an award for being the best CPF in the province while the Station Commander Colonel David Seabi was voted first runner-up in the Man of the Year category at the SAPS Annual Provincial Awards.

Earlier this year, the station tops the West Rand area in terms of crime statistics and achieved a National rating of one for Crime Prevention out of more than 1 100 stations.

“This is due to the dedication shown by the previous committee. As the new team on the block we appreciate that we have some big shoes to fill. Therefore I would like to propose a slogan for Muldersdrift CPF– Together we can do better, explained Nell.

He further indicated that if they all work together, they could build on this legacy and make the police station and the commander the best in the province next year. “This will not be an easy task but I challenge each and every one to contribute to make this a success story,” he concluded.

Muldersdrift Communication Action Group (MCAG) security spokesperson Mike Francisco and CPF member explained they had seen a distinct increase in the level of communication to the community. “Obviously the successful rate of arrests is sending a clear message to suspects in the area. The awards are really the cherry on top,” said Francisco.

Commenting on his award Page said, “I would also like to sincerely thank the main people that made this award possible namely, Col David Seabi, Shenan Cochrane, Mike Francisco, Jonathan Wortmeyer and Reuben Sibanda. There were many other people that have helped us, but they are too numerous to mention by name. I wish to thank everyone that has been involved.”

He emphasised that security was a team effort and their area was making great strides in the strong partnerships they were developing.

Both Col Seabi and Page will now go through to the National Awards.
