Aubrey excels in Ireland

The Danie Rossouw side is a combined team selected at the Danie Rossouw Rugby Week.

Aubrey Rosslee was one the only pupil from the West Rand who participated in the Danie Rossouw XV Rugby tour to Ireland.

The Hoerskool Roodepoort pupil was chosen to be part of the Krugersdorp High School’s team that was supposed to travel to Ireland but due to circumstances, the school decided to opt out of the trip.

However, the Danie Rossouw team came to the rescue as those who still wanted to travel to the country were drafted into the Danie Rossouw School rugby tour team.

The team had players from across the country such as Nelspruit, Cape Town and Ficksburg.

“The trip was amazing and I made lots of friends. It’s always strange to travel to a different country. But I have learned a lot there and I am thankful for the experience,” said Rosslee.

In Ireland, the team played three matches against different opponents such as Young Munster and St. Michael’s College.

Although Rosslee has a bright future in rugby ahead of him, he first wants to complete his studies and get a university qualification.

“One injury can end your whole career so I will go to university and maybe study accounting and play rugby for fun,” he said.
