Stuttering is a speech disorder in which the flow of speech is disrupted by involuntary repetitions.

Here are facts you may not have known about stuttering:

1. Although some children are likely to recover by ages seven or eight, one out of every 100 children will be left with long-term stuttering.

2. More than 70 million people worldwide are stutterers.

3.Many famous actors such as Marilyn Monroe, James Earl Jones, Emily Blunt, and Shaquille O’Neal are a few were stutterers.

4.Stuttering is more common among boys than girls.

5.According to an online article, people who have this speech disorder have said it feels like their speech is out of their control which causes them embarrassment and fear of stuttering again.

6.A variety of apps for smartphones and tablets have been designed to help with stuttering.
