Rapper set to take music industry by storm

POORTVIEW – Thulani Mafu will release his new single titled, 'Sleep don't pay', after the success of his single, 'Ada-wa'.

Mafu, who goes by the name Mthulz, said that he was 13 years old when he recorded his first song and since then he has never looked back.

“I studied journalism and media studies at Damlin because my parents wanted me to study further but music is my passion and I have always loved it,” Mafu said.

The Poortview resident added that he was excited that his song was garnering so much support from fans and has already had over 1 000 downloads on Itunes. He announced that his next single titled, Sleep don’t pay, will be released soon.

The rapper, who grew up in Kagiso township with his parents and siblings, said that he wanted his music to motivate people to take life seriously.

Mafu pointed out that he was not just a rapper but an entrepreneur as well and that his clothing line Flava Clothing was also doing well.

“Right now I can see my hard work paying off and I am also picking up more bookings and that would make any artist happy,” he said.

He added that in the beginning it was not easy but since Nhlanhla Nciza, the lead singer from afro-pop duo Mafikizolo, had signed him to her record label as her first artist, things were looking up for him.

“I want my music to expose me to the world, so that I can travel abroad and introduce people to the Mthulz brand,” he said.

He said anyone who would like to contact him could do so via social networks or via bookings@homebaserecords.co.za
