Grandparents were in for a big treat when they visited Wilropark Kleuterskool this morning, 14 October.
The crêche held their annual Grandparents’ Morning. Grandmothers and grandfathers were made comfortable in the little hall where the children put on a show. With the assistance of their teachers they performed songs, drama pieces and dances. It was made complete with beautiful props made for them, such as golden stars, zoo animals, flowers and hearts. They ended off their performance with “You are my sunshine” where grandparents chimed in.
Afterwards, while the children enjoyed sandwiches and cold drinks outside, the guests were treated to a hearty lunch. The proud grandparents could not wait to take a photo with their grandchildren and enticed the little ones to neaten up and smile for the birdy.
School principal and founder Marie Grobler said it was an honour for her to be with the people that form a foundation for the children.
“What a privilege to be amongst you this morning,” she said, addressing guests after the performance.
“We honour your commitment to these children, the time you spend with them, how you treat them and the abundant love and support you always offer.”
Grobler was pleased with and thanked the teachers and children that worked together to make the morning a success.
