Eben Etzebeth returns to the starting line-up in the pack with Duane Vermeulen making his first Test appearance of the year in the No 8 jersey.
Adriaan Strauss, making his 50th test appearance will start at hooker.
On the bench, Schalk Brits and Frans Malherbe make their first appearance on a Rugby World Cup team-sheet.
Jean de Villiers has been shifted to outside centre while Willie le Roux, JP Pietersen and Damian De Allende return in the backline.
Handre Pollard and Fourie du Preez will form a new half back pairing.
