Musical freestyle equestrian competition
MULDERSDRIFT – Riverleigh Equestrian Centre held the Musical Freestyle competition.
Horses and riders from equestrian yards on the West Rand competed across a number of different technical levels, as a team or individually on 20 September.
The Musical Freestyle competition was held at Riverleigh Equestrian Centre in Muldersdrift.
Glover Paddocks Equestrian Park from Honeydew triumphed in the team events category which required precision, discipline and brilliant riding skills.These technical attributes must be synchronised to various musical scores, such as Phantom of the Opera.
Yolanda Engelbrecht and Mikayla Maher, riding in the Pas de Deux – two-rider event – won Level 1 Pas de Deux, Best Overall Pas de Deux, across all levels, Best Music and Best Theme (Phantom of the Opera).
In the Quadrille – six-rider combinations event – Kerryn Maher, Kirsty Speeding-Booysen, Aisling McCarthy, Mikayla Maher, Tasmin Maher and Vanessa Joubert won the Best Quadrille and Best Overall Performance Quadrille.
