Ward 98 councillor and other DA members cleaned up Judges Avenue in Randburg on 12 September by picking up litter in attempt to create a better image for the City of Johannesburg.

Ward 98 councillor Laurette van Zijl said she has recently realised Johannesburg is becoming more run-down than ever before and wanted to make an attempt at rectify it.

“We can not paint lines in the road but we can pick up litter,” said van Zijl.

She added they are planning more clean-ups for later in the month during which they will clean-up Beyers Naudé Drive.

“We hope that community members will join us for the next clean-up sessions,”said Van Zijl.

Van Zijl also said that in about an hour and a half they picked up more than six bags of litter.
