Traffic light falls on pedestrian
HONEYDEW – Pedestrian pinned under traffic light following collision on Beyers Naudé.
A traffic light fell onto a pedestrian following a collision on the morning of 27 August.
According to an eyewitness, Denzel Mabhula, a female motorist in a white Toyota Tazz was driving down Beyers Naudé in the direction to Lazer Park, “When the light was amber, the driver of a white Hyundai turned right across Beyers Naudé to turn into Blueberry Street when he collided with the Tazz.”
Mabhula added that the driver of the Tazz lost control of the vehicle and hit a traffic light, which in turn fell over and landed on a pedestrian.
According to Mabhula the pedestrian didn’t appear seriously injured but she was taken from the scene in an ambulance.
Johannesburg Metropolitan Police was on the scene taking statements from witnesses.
