Prize-giving at Roodepoort Angling Club
Many prizes were won yesterday as the Roodepoort Angling Club celebrated their monthly prize-giving.
The Roodepoort Angling Club held their monthly prize-giving yesterday and prizes were awarded to those who caught the biggest fish of the month as well as lucky draws were taken.
Mike Labuschagne caught a heavy 15kg common carp fish just 15 minutes before the prize-giving was due to start.
“I am probably the happiest person alive right now and I just want to thank GT Baits DNA boilies as their bait helped me get the ‘winning’ fish,” he said happily.
Mike’s 10-year-old son, Jordan showed the apple does not fall far from the tree when he also caught a fish this month that weighed 10.08 kg.

After catching the fish, it is put into a carp cradle and often medicated if they find it is injured. The fish is then safely released back into the lake.
Watch how Justin Guerini gets slowly tortured when his father, John, pours a cold bucket of water on him. This is a tradition at the club whenever you catch your biggest fish and Justin’s biggest fish caught weighed 9.68 kg.
