Safe haven for huskies
The Nordic Rescue SA aims to better the life of all huskies.
About 28 neglected huskies and husky breeds are rehabilitated and taken care of at The Nordic Rescue South Africa in Mindalore.
The non-profit-organisation (NPO) provides these special breeds with a comfortable home filled with love.
“We do not have many staff members but it is important for us as a team to provide these dogs with love as some of them are stray dogs,” said founder of the Nordic Rescue SA, Elke Du Bruyn.
Other facilities the Prolife organisation provide for the huskies are deworming, installing micro chips and vaccinations when needed.
Elke said although they only have 28 dogs at the moment, the number is due to increase as they always stumble upon abandoned huskies.
“Showing love to these dogs are what we do and we hope to educate people more about looking after these animals,” said Elke.
She also said the organisation uses social media and interact with the community regularly to raise awareness so people can know more about what the organisation does.
The NPO relies solely on donations and support from the community through their fundraising events so if you would like to donate to them or adopt a husky, call Elke on 082-927-4222.
