Jaws of life used to rescue a man
ROODEPOORT– Man (31) trapped in car after crashing into a bridge pillar under the Gordon Road bridge, on N1.
A man had to be extricated from his vehicle with the Jaws of Life earlier today on the N1 under the Gordon Road bridge.
According to Chitra Bodasing, ER24 spokesperson, it is understood the man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a bridge pillar.
ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found the man trapped in the vehicle.
Fire and Rescue Services used the Jaws of Life to extricate the man.
The man, believed to be 31 years old, was assessed and found to have sustained critical injuries.
He was treated and transported to Baragwanath Hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
