Rees the bowling coach
RUIMSIG – Rees has many accolades to her name since she started bowling.
Mabs Rees from Struben’s Valley believes that if one can hold the ball, then, they can bowl it too. The Ruimsig Country Club (CC) bowling coach, enjoys playing and coaching at a social level.
This coach has many accolades attributed to her name since she started bowling.Although Rees has always played sports throughout her life, bowling was never one of them until 2006.
“Bowling is the only sport that caters for all ages. We can get an 80-year-old playing,” she explained. She added that bowling requires passion. “Bowling is a very technical sports but extremely enjoyable at a social level,” she reckoned.
As a full time bowler and coach, Rees initiated a coaching clinic which offers bowlers, who aspire to improve their skills, better training. “We offer individual training for bowlers who want to be better. Every two months we have bowlers here, who want to improve their skills.”
She advised interested residents to contact the Ruimsig Country Club’s bowling section.
Players pay a green fee of R10 and R50 fee for personal coaching.
