106 arrests during crime-prevention initiatives

MULDERSDRIFT — Police stomp down on crime with successful arrests.

Muldersdrift Police alongside the Krugersdorp Police cluster, arrested a staggering 106 suspects from 22 to 28 June.

Suspects were arrested for various types of crimes ranging from housebreaking and robbery, to rape and murder.

“The success are the results of the perseverance and dedication of the members of the police and the public. All the suspects from the weekend arrests are expected to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on 29 June,” said spokesperson for the Krugersdorp cluster, Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya.

Meanwhile on 25 June, SMS security guards apprehended two men between 20 and 42 years for housebreaking and robbery in Muldersdrift.

“It is alleged that the victim was sleeping inside the house when two armed men entered the house through the toilet window,” Ngwenya added.

According to the police report, the suspects tied the hands and feet of the homeowner with electrical cords, and fled on foot with electrical appliances.

The victim positively identified the criminals and the stolen goods were returned upon the arrest.
