Local celebrities got down and dirty in Florida as they participated in the new season of e.tv’s Reality Check programme.
Kelly Khumalo, Chomee and Ifani sweated buckets as they completed different missions to win money for the charity of their choice.
This time, the celebrities were working hard to help the shelter for abused women and children they visited.
Sporting blue overalls and black wellington boots, the trio toiled in the shelter’s garden, digging out weeds to make it suitable for vegetable gardening.
The television programme which is in its third season travels around Gauteng and each episode they visit different charities that need help.
One of the objectives of the show is to get the celebrities to contribute to their communities, local charities and do good deeds to the best of their abilities in communities that are often forgotten.
The show allows viewers to bridge an understanding between socio-economic and cultural values through real interactions with the local communities.
In the new season, Kelly, Chomee and Ifani will strive together to donate more than last season’s amount of R24 000.
Managing Director of e.tv Channels Division Monde Twala said the show is exciting because it manages to bring immense entertainment to viewers while giving back to the community.
“The authenticity of this show lies in the fact that the selected group of celebrities are integrated into various community organisations to interact with their viewers on a heightened level,” he said.
The show, which started shooting earlier this month will air every Saturday at 6.05pm on e.tv from 4 July.
