Mafikizolo heats up Silverstar

Mafikizolo rocked the crowd at Silverstar Casino.

Hundreds braved the icey cold weather and descended on Silverstar Casino’s Globe to watch iconic South African duo Mafikizolo heat up the stage Friday night.

The sold out show, titled Mafikizolo’s Home Coming – Our Story, had acts such as Wanda Baloyi warming up the crowd as the opening act before the main event.

Mafikizolo’s Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza kicked off their show with their early 2000 hit Marabi, getting the crowd pumped up as they went through their discography.

The show had narrator Leroy Gopal, tell the story of Mafikizolo’s Home Coming – Our Story performance in between performances.

In the middle of the show, the duo sang Sibongile, a song that gives thanks after they survived a near-fatal accident that put the members in hospital.

They also sang their love ballads Masithokoze and Emlanjeni which had couples in the audience holding each other closely.

After the sombre moment, it was straight back to the upbeat tunes as the duo showcased their versatility by performing their solo efforts before winding down the show with their latest comeback songs including Khona.
