Ebenezer home needs donations
The Ebenezer psychiatric home is asking for donations from the community.
Ebenezer psychiatric home, a home which rehabilitates people with psychiatric illnesses, is desperately looking for donations from the community.
The non-profit organisation (NPO) takes care of 23 psychiatrically ill adults. Some of them suffer from Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia.
To keep the residents busy, they partake in various activities such as playing a game of 30 Seconds.
They also look through various recipes in magazines and alternate between cooking schedules every weekend. “We have got some really good cooks among us. Some of them could be Master-chef contestants,” said a proud Brett Marais, resident and PA (Personal Assistant) for the Ebenezer psychiatric home.
The donations the home needs include:
• Fruit and vegetables
• Non-perishable foods and perishables such as bread, milk, butter, etc.
• Vegetable and herb seeds to extend their vegetable garden
If anyone has knowledge or experience on how to start or preserve a vegetable garden, contact Brett Marais on 073-365-4092.
