The Lion Park has confirmed that a lion attacked and killed one person, while injuring another, in their premises on 1 June.
The park’s assistant operations manager Scott Simpson explained that two people were driving in the park in Lanseria, with two windows down in the afternoon.
A lion jumped through one of the windows and attacked a female passenger before attacking the male driver inside the vehicle.
Staff at the park witnessed the incident and chased the lion away.
ER24 paramedics were called, and treated the woman, but she died on scene.
