Stay in shape with SUNfit

The emphasis is on health education and practice to contribute towards the community’s health and upliftment.

Go Jozi Healthy Lifestyle Street Fairs will be coming to town 30 May.

People who are involved in fitness, sport and wellness from the community are called to showcase their skills at the fairs.

The event offers free cholesterol, blood pressure and sugar testing, free access to a dietitian who can council people on healthy nutrition and free access to a biokineticist for orthopaedic injuries or fitness related questions.

SUNfit is implementing the fitness and health street fairs across Johannesburg.

SUNfit was appointed by the GO Jozi initiative and the Healthy Lifestyle campaign by the mayor and Department of Social Development.

25 fairs are being hosted in the wards that will benefit the most from the fairs over three weekends which began in April.

The fair is free and the community is invited to visit the selected venues in their numbers.

To provide educational and entrepreneurial development programmes and assist people from these communities is the main aim of the street fairs.

The street fairs will also identify a top 10-15 candidates in each of the venues and will be sent on courses like bootcamp, Zumba, kickboxing and management programmes.

They will be employed by SUNfit as full time instructors in their communities at various parks and outdoor areas.
