A protest occurred at the Thabo Mbeki Informal Settlement, Lanseria, on 13 May.
According to Metro Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar, “a shed or a shack” was burned down.
“The protesters are currently under control, and are being addressed by their local Ward councillor with Metro Police officers on scene,” he said.
Supt Minnaar said that he did not know why the protest occurred, nor how many residents protested.
