The young Maragon horse rider Britney Oosthuizen and her horse Joep Palais, or ‘Patchy’, is making waves in this sport.
Britney has been to Belgium where she had lessons from highly experienced and qualified coaches and went to EuroStar where Olympian horses are bred. According to her one of the highlights was attending one of the biggest shows in the world namely The Mechellin Show. She also travelled to Ireland in 2014 where she had lessons from an ex-Ireland Olympian.
In 2014 she was awarded Gauteng Colours from the South African Show Jumping Federation and took part in the SA Junior Championships in a team of four riders.
This past weekend she took part in a competition held at Maple Ridge Equestrian Farm in the Cradle of Human Kind where she scored five first places, two for Show Jumping and one each for Equitation, Working Hunter and Extreme Equitation.
