Albion lose at home

Florida Albion Football Club U/15 team lost their home DSL Super League fixture against Olympia Football Club from Bedfordview in Florida Park.

The game, however, was marred by ill-discipline from both teams which resulted in two red cards and more than three yellow cards.

In the first half, Olympia dominated proceedings but could not penetrate the defence of Albion.

The home side had few counter attacking chances but they failed to capitalise on them.

Both teams went into the break without registering a goal.

In the second half, the match tempo increased but so did the ill-discipline after a few unnecessary skirmishes forced the referee to dish out yellow cards. Olympia nicked a goal in the final third of the match and despite Albion’s valiant attacks, they could not find the equaliser.

The match ended 1-0.

“Despite the loss, the boys worked hard and played their hearts out. Our discipline has improved from previous games and that’s great. I am very proud of the boys,” said Albion coach Pietro Volo.
