Come ride the mobile fun train

He drives his mobile fun train every weekend from his home in Witpoortjie to the West Rand Pet and Bird Farm.

Here, children excitedly wait at the Jungle Nook to get a chance to ride the train.

Just two years ago, Gareth was working as a carpenter for 17 years before he was retrenched.

After a few months without a job he was hired by a childrens entertainment company but that did not last long either.

As a parting gift, he was given a small army train.

Gareth fixed the train and has been trying to change into a red fire engine.

“It has been a year since I’ve had the train and it’s been wonderful to me. It has given me an opportunity to make children smile and happy and also make me some money,” he said.
