I am a young unemployed South African citizen who is really concerned about the state of affairs we find ourselves in.
I recently ran into a JMPD Officer who told me they are desperately looking for recruits. I went to the offices in Westdene where the receptionist told me he has no idea how to get application forms. I then drove to Loveday Street where I went to the HR department and was told to look in the paper for when they advertise. I also noticed that most of the staff were sleeping at 9am at their desks.
The reason for me writing to you is to ask for your help in contacting the head of the JMPD in order for him to please explain their application process. I mean if one decides on becoming a law enforcement officer you should be able to pick up an application form from a station. It is a decision you make as an individual to protect your fellow man why should you wait for someone to advertise the post? The SANDF don’t advertise you apply by sending your CV and results to them and they then separate potential members from the group during training.
If I look at our officers in uniform I wonder how they passed their physicals in the first place, some of them look like they haven’t exercised ever.
