According to a Muldersdrift policeman who was on the scene, a white bakkie and a black CTV 300 IE Scooter were travelling down Hendrik Potgieter Road toward Cradlestone Mall, when a blue van hit the bakkie and the scooter.

Immediately after that, the scooter then hit a white Polo.

It is alleged that, by the time the Polo hit the scooter, the driver had already been knocked off from it.

The scooter driver was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar of JMPD said, “The accident will be investigated and the driver, who caused the accident, will be charged with culpable homicide.”

A visibly emotional man was seen sitting next to the dead body and he could not control his tears as paramedics and police attended to the scene.

Muldersdrift police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hilter Ngwenya said, “A case docket of culpable homicide has been opened at the Muldersdrift Police Station.”
