Five suspects have been arrested in connection with drugs near the Florida Lake early this March.
They noticed in a vehicle when Florida Police reservists were performing normal patrol duties. They decided to stop and search them for illegal possessions.
The two female occupants were searched by a female officer, Florida Police spokesperson Lydia Dikolomelo said.
“There was nothing found on their person but three small transparent plastic bags containing a white powder suspected to be drugs were found in the vehicle,” she said.
According to Dikolomelo the plastic bags were hidden in a small vanity bag that contained make-up items.
“They all denied any knowledge of the white powder,” she said.
The suspects aged between 18 and 21 were arrested and detained for possession of drugs and subsequently appeared at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
