Wilro Lions Cycle Challenge changes dates to September
One of West Rand’s premier cycling events, The Wilro Lions Cycle Challenge will be moved to September this year.
The annual cycle challenge usually takes place in April.
The date change follows the organisation hosting a National convention for all Lions clubs throughout South Africa with over 300 delegates and more from overseas.
Due to the manpower the convention would need, the organisation decided to shift the cycle challenge to a later date and not split their forces.
The arranging of a date that would fit into the cycling calendar and coincided with race venue Tarlton International Raceway was also a challenge.
The 6th September was the date sponsors and organisers agreed on.
This year will be the 18th edition of the race and the 8th hosted at the Tarlton International Raceway.
Race entries will be opened on www.cycleevents.com in the weeks to come.
