Three arrested for stolen property

Two men and a woman were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property recently.

The Saps West Rand K9 Dog Unit were performing special duties in the area on Saturday 21 February and acted upon information received from an unknown member of the public.

“The person said that there is stolen property at a certain address in Ferreira Street, Discovery,” Florida police spokesperson Lydia Dikolomela said.

The police arrived to find two men and a woman who they proceeded to question about the Honda motorcycle in the sitting room.

“Its VIN was tampered with,” Dikolomela said.

“They also asked questions about a Venter trailer on the property that had no license disc nor a VIN.”

When the trio aged between 29 and 32 failed to give satisfactory answers they were arrested and detained for possessing suspected stolen property.

Their first appearance in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court was on Monday 23 February.
