Woman of Substance to launch new concept

STRUBEN'S VALLEY – Charity organisation to launch new concept on Human Rights Day.

On Saturday 21 March, Woman of Substance (WOS) will be launching a brand new concept: The ‘Living on Purpose’ Journey of Discovery –a human empowerment programme in collaboration with Constitution Hill.

Project director Charlotte du Plessis explained that the launch will fall on Human Rights Day in commemoration of those who died in the protest against past laws. “It was an affirmation by common people, rising in unison to proclaim their rights, and it became an iconic date in our country’s troubled history,” added Du Plessis.

This corporate social investment initiative is steered by Pennylane Productions, a professional event management company based in Little Falls and Du Plessis is also the managing director of this company.

She said the new concept is to empower women to reach their full potential. “These women will be recruited as members of the organisation. Members will receive great benefits such as, free advertising of their business on the WOS website; special discounts on beauty products; special rates for personal mentoring programmes; skills development programmes; business seminars, workshops and social events,” explained Du Plessis.

Bookings are open but there are limited seats. The event starts at 9.30am and will finish at 1.30pm. The programme will include guest speaker and Top Woman in Business winner Nonkululeko Gobodo and author, actress, speaker and image consultant Petra Laranjo. Entertainment will be rendered by classical singers Paul Dalasile and Hardus Hartzenberg and there will also be a welcome drink and goodie bag.

Food and drinks will be available to buy at the WOS Garden Market. Stalls are available for ladies specialising in food and crafts who want to promote their business.

Woman of Substance is an organisation that launched in April 2013. The initial purpose was to raise awareness and much-needed funds for charities through various projects and fund raising initiatives.
