One suspect was shot and three were arrested following a shootout between the suspects and Fairland police at the Gordon Road intersection yesterday.The shootout occured after seven men were allegedly involved in an armed robbery at an MTN store at the Wesbank head office in Fairland.
Three of the suspects managed to escape while the remaining four were chased down by police.
One of the suspects was shot by security officers and apprehended on the scene while the three suspects fled the scene in a Quantum taxi. They abandoned the taxi at Gordon Road intersection while police gave chase when the traffic light turned red. They were swiftly arrested after the shootout and taken to Fairland police station.
