Update: The driver who collided with Mhere will be charged
JOBURG – The driver of the VW Polo that collided with Mhere's vehicle, killing the well-known TV presenter, will be charged with culpable homicide and reckless driving.
The driver of the VW Polo that collided with Simba Mhere’s vehicle will be charged with culpable homicide and reckless driving.
The Top Billing presenter died in the early hours of 31 January in a fatal car crash on William Nicol and N1.

According to Edna Mamonyane spokesperson of JMPD, “the Polo off-ramped from N1 over the middle island and then collided with the Mistubishi that Mhere was driving.”
Mhere was 31.

It is believed he died en route to the J&B Met in Cape Town and was with his father and a friend. Only his father survived and was rushed to the hospital.
It is understood that Mhere was driving the vehicle.
Some victims were airlifted from the scene.
