Stage two load shedding commences

Public to be prepared for intense load shedding.

Eskom has started with stage two load shedding this morning at 9.30am.

The load shedding is due to the grid being extremely constrained and the fact that a generator at the Majuba power station broke down.

Stage one allows for a 1000MW electricity to be shed, stage two for 2000MW and stage three for as much as 4000MW.

To see when and how long your suburb will be subjected to load shedding, go to the Eskom website. Choose the municipal customer option. Then choose the City Power option. Finally type in your suburb’s name and the stage of load shedding that has been announced.
