Sables Bowling Association to host big tournament
ROODEPOORT – Sables Bowling Association to play host to five different clubs for the Gauteng Districts Challenge on 17 and 18 January.
The Sables Bowling Association will be hosting the inaugural Gauteng Districts Challenge on 17 and 18 January.
According to Graeme Morton from Sables, the districts challenge was previously known as the Quadrangular Tournament.
“The tournament is held annually and bowling districts within Gauteng compete against one another in preparation for the Inter Provincial Tournaments being held later in March.”
He explained that previously, only four districts competed in the tournament, but added that this year, the Sedibeng Bowling Association will also join the tournament and that is why they changed the tournaments name to the Gauteng Districts Challenge.
“The host bowling clubs for the event will be clubs in Ruimsig, Discovery and Florida North and play will start on 9am on the two days. The senior men and women will be playing at
Ruimsig while the Open Tournament will be hosted at Discovery, and Florida North will play host to the ‘B’ men and women bowlers.”
President of Sables Bowling Association David Parker invites the public to come and support the bowlers at the three venues on the two days.
