Mr SA finalist does his bit
RUIMSIG – Armand du Plessis visited the Pattaya Orphanage over Christmas and he gave out 80 packs of sweets to the children.
Resident and Top 25 finalist in the Mr South Africa competition, Armand du Plessis, recently took a trip to Thailand to help out a less fortunate orphanage in the area.
“While most people view holidays as a time to relax, my holiday in Thailand over the festive period was done with a specific reason and that was to visit the Pattaya Orphanage.”
He explained that the orphanage celebrated its 40th year of existence and this helped him to choose the right orphanage to go and visit over Christmas.
“This isn’t my first time in Thailand as my family frequently travels to Asia, and I decided to visit the orphanage for the first time on 23 December.”
Du Plessis arrived with 80 packets of sweets for the less fortunate children at the orphanage.
“It was a humbling experience and it changed the way I see the world.”
He added that he is back in South Africa now and is busy preparing for the Mr South Africa final that will take place at EnGedi, located close to the Cradle of Humankind, on 28 January.
“Tickets are still available for the Grand Finale and I urge the public to visit the Mr South Africa website to obtain more details,” Du Plessis concluded.
