Community welcome to join SPCA Management Committee

According to Roodepoort SPCA chairperson Christine Kuch, many people do not realise that an organisation like the SPCA is not funded by the government and that income from the municipality is not a grant, but payment for services rendered.

“This is why we are appealing to people from within the community to come forward and support the SPCA by serving on the Management Committee.”

She added that if people are interested, they can send a one-page CV to pr@nspca.co.za and it’s important to remember that it is an unpaid function that involves planning, support and sustainability for the Roodepoort SPCA.

“We will also welcome people with business skills – especially individuals with skills in human resources, information technology or members of the legal profession.

“It is essential that individuals who carry the responsibility for the SPCA are caring, compassionate people with a heart for animals. The organisation has policies, principles and Codes of Conduct which apply nationally and which must be observed and understood by the committee members,” concluded Kuch.
