A 16-year-old Hoërskool Florida pupil is currently being held in an underage detention centre after being arrested for stabbing his grandmother to death with a sword.
The stabbing allegedly took place on 15 December at the family’s Westrand home. The child was later arrested at a friend’s house not far from the crime scene.
According to sister publication, Roodepoort record, the friend of the accused [who asked to remain anonymous] said that he had always found his friends behavior abnormal. “My friend romanticised murder and told me before that he would kill people.”
Investigations by Roodepoort Police are still underway.
