POORTVIEW - King's School pupils rewarded for their hard work.

The King’s School West Rand had its Evening of Excellence on 3 December. The evening was for the academic performers in the Primary School explained Marketing Officer Bronwyn Barnard.

“The pupils were rewarded for their hard work and first on the list was the progress certificates of Grade 1, 2 and 3 pupils.”

Next was the Silver Certificates for pupils that achieved an average between 70 and 78 percent.

“Each and every pupil that came on stage worked hard for their certificates,” added Barnard.

Next on the stage was the pupils who received Gold Certificates for their hard work and it was handed over by Principal Ken Langley.

The other special awards that were handed out was the Spiritual Awards.

“We used different characters from the Bible to represent the award and what it means. The first one was the Joshua Award that was handed out to pupils that were strong leaders and stood up for what they believed in. The second one was the Joseph Award that stood for Integrity followed by the Caleb Award that meant Diligence, in other words, going the extra mile.”

The Abraham Award was rewarded for Faithfulness and the Miriam Award was awarded to pupils that represented strong praise and worship skills. “The last two awards were the Nehemiah Award that means to serve and the Ruth Award that is known as Obedience.”

“It was a memorable evening of celebrating the pupils achievements,” Langley said. “We thank each and every parent that helped their children throughout the year.”
