Sterling performance from various bands at Rumours Lounge
WELTEVREDEN PARK – Chris Chameleon ends off a night filled with great performances by a bunch of talented singers.
Thirsty Thursday held up to its name as the crowd had a great evening filled with entertainment by various bands at Rumours Lounge on 20 November.
Local singer and organiser of the event Justin Serrao opened the night with songs from his new album, Forget and Let Loose. He said, “At the start of the night I was a bit anxious as there was only a small crowd but an hour later the crowd doubled in size and it continued to grow toward the end of the night.”
Van Wyk Brand took to the stage next as he performed a couple of covers. Serrao added, “Van Wyk played on the outside stage while Sutherland started with their sound check inside.”
Folk band Sutherland captivated the crowd with their songs that had a Mumford & Sons feeling to it.
The fans, who were all still sitting at the tables socialising, started to gather in front of the stage as the main performers were scheduled to end the night off with an amazing show. Serrao said, “This was the first ever time that Boo! will perform at Rumours.”
The fans suddenly started shouting BOO! at the top of their voices as the band started playing. The band only has two members but it’s a case of quality and not quantity as the lead singer is the multi-talented singer, songwriter Chris Chameleon and the drummer is Riaan van Rensburg who also needs no introduction.
Chameleon concluded and said, “The crowd surprised me as each of them knew the lyrics to every song and the vibe and feeling at the show was amazing.”
