Video: Putt-Putt developer served notice of eviction

Councillor serves eviction order and explains why he doubts integrity of developer.

The putt-putt development saga has taken another sordid turn when the developer was served an eviction notice yesterday.

The notice was served to the developer Rupert September by DA councillor Dave Dewes and an official of the Department of Sports and Recreation, Mackie Venter.
Dewes explained to September that if he can not produce all the plans and prove all regulations were met, the City of Johannesburg will cancel the lease and take back the property.
Dewes also explained at length how he sincerely believed in the project but after investigation realised there might be foul play involved and he suspected that September did not have all the plans and documents in place.
He said he was saddened that the development might have to come to a halt.
September assured the councillor and the official he will be able to supply them with the relevant documentation in seven days.
“The development will go ahead,” a determined September told the record.
