Plenty to enjoy at Blockwatch fun day

FLORIDA PARK — Local Blockwatch will host a fun day for old and new members.

The Florida Blockwatch is kicking back and hosting a fun day on 22 November at Florida Park.

From 9am until much later in the afternoon, community members in attendance can enjoy a variety of activities for the entire family, including jumping castles and train rides.

Florida Blockwatch public relations officer Margaret Richardson said, “The entrance is free for everyone that is attending but there will be food stalls selling goodies, including popcorn, candy floss and pancakes. This the first fun day we are having this year and we also hope to attract more members to the watch.”

To ensure the fun never runs out, there are model train rides and face painting in the kiddies area. Emergency personnel from ER24, Netcare 911 and Quick Response Services will have their displays up, including a stall from the SA Police Service.

“People are of course welcome to bring along their picnic baskets and enjoy the outdoors. Boerie rolls will be on sale while raising funds for the Hungry Hearts Foundation. Entry is free of charge and secured parking will be provided,” concluded Richardson.
