Update: Another violence case in post office strike
Extensive damage to property was caused after a group of protesters ransacked the Florida Post Office in 2nd Street yesterday, police said.
“They started to smash the glass windows with stones,” Dikolomela said.
“They damaged five computer screens, a lotto machine, a motor vehicle licensing machine and masskot scales and took an undisclosed amount of cash,” she said.
According to Dikolomela employees hid and locked themselves in the bathroom during the raid.
“By the time the police arrived, the protesters were already gone,” she said.
According to a Citizen report the police are investigating over 167 cases of violence related to the post office worker’s strike.
Dikolomela confirmed that a case of business burglary and malicious damage to property has been opened at the Florida Police Station.
