Monash South Africa hosted more than 470 children from local schools, orphanages and Early Childhood Development centres during their Christmas in November fun fair on the campus last week.
The day was filled with various fun activities and gifts delivered by Santa Claus. The Head of Community Engagement, Craig Rowe says the day is the highlight at Monash because children, students, academics, partners and local businesses come together to make a difference in the children’s lives. “It is also a celebration of the caregivers and teachers who work tirelessly all year to nurture the future leaders of our country,” he says.
Student Olerato Mokoa says the children don’t have the opportunity to experience these activities and it is an excellent way to build and empower them.
