The little kiddies at Oak Hill Academy recently spread some goodwill in Zandspruit ahead of the festive season.
Teachers, parents and children all came together and opened their hearts, for the underprivileged schools in that area. They collected food and fresh fruit into a bakkie and took off to offer some support and love to their community members.
Educator Kirsten Andrew said, “We were shown some of the needy and most deserving schools and we proceeded to hand out lunch snacks to the children.”
The school packed fresh sandwiches, fruit, snacks and juices and were accompanied by the Honeydew Police.
Andrew says they plan to make the event a regular occurence at the school. “Our children learned valuable lessons about community spirit and co-operation. We hope to strike up mutually beneficial partnerships with the amazing people from these less-fortunate communities.”
