Truck crashes into police van
RUIMSIG — An accident involving a police van leaves three people injured.
A vehicle accident on Beyers Naudé and Peter Road caused major traffic congestion on 6 November and left three people injured.
A truck crashed into a police vehicle, causing the car’s canopy to get unhooked and roll into two other vehicles in the same lane.
One eyewitness said, “The robot was green for the truck and the police car came rushing with sirens, maybe they were chasing someone. The truck then swerved into the police van, which then rolled and the canopy hit the two other cars here.”
Advanced life support paramedic at Emer-G Med, Dewet Jooste said, “We have transported two patients to hospital and one other person was transported by Vital Med. No fatal injuries so far and the cause of the accident will remain subject to a police investigation.”
Traffic is expected to be diverted for most of the afternoon and motorists are advised to be cautious and practice patience until the scene has been cleared.
