I prefer to stay anonymous. I’d like to warn residents about something regarding regular housebreakings in the Wilropark, Helderkruin and Roodekrans areas. I used to stay on a plot in the Muldersdrift area and that is where I got to know the code whistling of criminals. They copy the sounds of birds to communicate with each other.
One night last week I woke up at 3am and heard such code whistling. I called the police to come immediately since there has been a lot of housebreakings in the area. It sounded like a bird sanctuary outside. When the police patrolled the area you could hear how they were warning each other; later it went quiet. Please warn your fellow residents about this and tell them that upon hearing code whistling, they must switch on their lights to show that there is someone home.
This is a known farmers-community method that is utilised here now. Please publish this in your newspaper and share it with your friends to protect the community against crime.
