A round of golf for a good cause
HONEYDEW – Golfers enjoyed their round of golf and the goodie bags that they received on the day.
As the day heated up golfers started to arrive at the Eagle Canyon Golf Course for a Roodepoort SPCA golf day.
SPCA fundraising manager Nicole Manners said, “I was surprised when 14 pairs of four-balls signed up for our event and with this being our first one, we can just go from strength to strength for next year’s golf day.”
The first player teed off at around 11.30am and Manners added that the first group finished their first nine holes before 1pm.
Zitha Dube who took part in the day, explained that he was surprised at the number of golfers that took part in the competition. “The outcome was very good – especially, for a first-time event like this SPCA day.”
Manners added that all the players received goodie bags. “They also had the opportunity to quench their thirst at one of the various water-points that we had and some of the caffeine junkies enjoyed a cup of coffee at the SPCA’s coffee tent. I want to thank each and every golfer that took time to come and support us – every bit helps,” she concluded.
