Against all odds
The Wilro Park resident obtained a BA Honours degree in media and television studies at the University of the Witswatersrand.
“Things we do for ourselves die as we perish, but a legacy is the mark you leave upon other beings.” Those are the words that inspired Tshililo wa ha Muzila to become the diligent, clean-cut and humble man he is today.
Born and raised in Mauluma, a village in Limpopo, Muzila has defeated the odds and has trounced the unemployment pandemic in Mauluma. The Wilro Park resident obtained a BA Honours degree in media and television studies at the University of the Witswatersrand.
Today Muzila holds the title of director of Masanani Productions, a 100 per cent black-owned entity he started. Having worked in television and print media for over 10 years, Muzila has solid experience in the field, making him one of the multi-talented individuals in the media and television industry.
Masanani Productions has aligned itself towards the development of skills and services as well as lending a hand to local groups and individuals.
He and his mentor and business partner, George Senosha who is the owner and director of Pick n Pay Soshanguve, initiated a CSI project called Ditsala Children Shield and Projects.
Some of the many major achievements through this project was raising funds from good samaritans for Linda Matlalepoo, a little girl from a rural area, to participate in Little Miss Nations Competitions in Brazil. Linda came back with three prestigious titles including Little Miss Smile and the second-princess crown.
Ditsala and other stakeholders completed 95 community development projects during Nelson Mandela Month this year under the #95projects2aid umbrella.
One heart-warming community development project they undertook was to collect money from their friends and families to build a house for Ontlametse Phalatse and her mom. Ontlametse is a 15-year-old girl who suffers from progeria, a rare genetic disorder that causes children to age rapidly. Ditsala obtained a stand from the City of Tshwane where they will build the house for them.
