Clearwater Mall to host Stop Hunger SA
STRUBEN'S VALLEY - Curro Auro pupils together with local celebrities to help pack 40 000 meals for the needy.
To commemorate World Hunger Day, Clearwater Mall will be supporting Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa by having 300 school children packing 40 000 meals on Saturday 18 October.
From 9am until 1pm, the pupils will be with celebrities like Simba Mhere from Top Billing, former Mr SA Stephen Segal, Mr SA finalist Armand du Plessis, top model and beauty queen Soula Bouzianis Sissou, runner-up Mrs SA Riana Mooi, Sashi Naidoo and Face of Clearwater winner Khanya Modipa as they will have their hands full, trying to pack meals for the needy.
Ruimsig resident and Mr SA finalist Armand du Plessis said, after celebrating World Food Day on 16 October, he was privileged to be involved in such an event. “I believe I can play a significant role to end hunger in Southern Africa by focusing on transformation through education, using food as a leverage to ensure we feed the current generation of pupils while at the same time holding pupils, parents and educators accountable to achieve defined outcomes.”
“I salute Clearwater Mall and Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa on the initiative taken to pack 40 000 meals on Saturday 18 October. No one should ever have to go hungry,” concluded Du Plessis.
