A relaxing way to start your weekend with Sarda

RUIMSIG— Residents enjoy a cup of coffee and some horseriding at Sarda's Coffee Morning and help raise funds

Coffee, rusks and delicious pastries were the order of the morning when South Africa Riding for the Disabled Association (Sarda) held its coffee morning on 17 October in Ruimsig.

At just R30 a pop, dozens of residents were treated to a relaxing morning under the shades of the surrounding trees with just a few horses putting on show.

The sale of the tickets was part of Sarda’s fundraising initiative toward the daily upkeep of the place, including taking care of the horses and donkeys.

The relaxing mood created included numerous novels that were scattered around and for sale at R10, enough to whet every book lover’s appetite.

Pupils from Goudveld School enjoyed riding around the course with the horses, much to the delight of every person that attended.

Sarda’s branch secretary Julia Morris said, “We aim to provide therapeutic and recreational horseriding for disabled people, so that they can benefit in all aspects of their lives. We literally survive on donations from the community and volunteers. We need all the help we can get, even if someone just gives a bit of their time to help out.”
