Four suspects were arrested in connection with drugs.
Between Saturday 4 and Tuesday 7 October four suspects in separate incidents were arrested for possession of and dealing in drugs, with dagga being most prevalent.
A 36-year-old male driving along Highway Street was stopped and searched, Florida Police spokesperson Lydia Mtila-Dikolomela in a press statement said.
“A small zip lock plastic bag containing dagga was found under the driver’s seat,” Mtila-Dikolomela said.
“In a second incident a 24-year-old driving a silver Polo in Hull Street was stopped and searched on 5 October,” she said.
“The police found one zip lock plastic bag containing white powder suspected to be drugs,” she added.
In a third incident a 24-year-old foreign national was also stopped and searched by police at the corner of 5th Avenue and Maud Street.
“He looked suspicious and after the initial search, police escorted him to his apartment where a further search was conducted,” Mtila-Dikolomela said.
“Drugs believed to be crystal meth were found in his room and he was arrested.”
In a fourth incident Florida Police acted on information received about a suspect in Jerusalem informal settlement, which is located between Boksburg and Germiston. They conducted a search of the suspect’s shack and found dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was arrested for possession of and dealing in dagga.
“All suspects were detained in police cells and will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon,” Mtila-Dikolomela said.

What about the KILARNEY Hotel/flats? Police are there EVERY DAY and no arrests are made!!Drugs are been sold to a man who had a Bible on the seat of his car. THAT means, he came from CHURCH to buy drugs. Residents see the SAPS vehicles arrive and signal to the dealers, they want money. I have left a message on Florida CPF’s facebook page also to contact me, but NO reaction
